I’m Nat Rogachevsky, Co-Founder & Co-Director of Broad Highway House. Sober since July 15th, 2017, my journey began at rock bottom—with no job, no direction, and no connection. Recovery gave me everything: purpose, peace, fellowship, and a relationship with a power greater than myself. But above all, it’s given me the privilege to help other men get sober—a duty that keeps me growing each day.

Since then, I’ve worked in recovery as a sober living technician, operations manager, and case manager. Still, no role means more than simply being of service. I owe it all to those sober men who showed up for me when I couldn’t show up for myself. Helping others is the debt I try to repay, every single day. Watching men come alive—finding freedom, brotherhood, and meaning—never gets old. It’s the good stuff.

When I’m not working with guys or attending a meeting, I’m usually at a concert or music festival, having more fun sober than I ever did using. I love traveling, shooting hoops (poorly), watching movies, and talking trash with my friends. Life used to feel tiny. Now it feels infinite. I can’t wait to meet you.

Meet John Eley

I’m John Eley, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Broad Highway House. Sober since July 11th, 2024. Before that... it was rough. I was deep in it. Drugs and alcohol, totally disconnected from the people who mattered most. No direction, no purpose, just drifting toward something dark. Recovery didn’t just help me survive... it cracked me wide open. Now I’ve got real connection, peace of mind, and a life that actually means something. I show up. I stay honest. I keep it simple... and it works.

The thing that saved me, besides the steps, was the people. Fellowship changed everything. I learned how to laugh again. How to trust people. How to let people in. I started sponsoring guys and got to watch their lives open up too. That’s why we built Broad Highway. I wanted to create a space where that kind of connection lives and breathes. A home where men lift each other up, lean on each other, and learn to live free together. If you’re looking for brotherhood, accountability, and a little spark of joy... you’ll find it here.

When I’m not at the house or in a meeting, I’m probably lifting at Lift ATX, cruising around the city, cooling off at Barton Springs, or hosting a BBQ with the crew. I ride my bike everywhere, drink too much black coffee, and eat like a straight up noir detective . Steak rare. Eggs sunny. Coffee always. Life used to feel flat... now it feels full. I’m here for all of it... and I’m stoked you are too.

Our program is much more than just a roof—it’s about community, belonging, and daily support. We offer group transportation to recovery meetings, strong sponsorship and fellowship networks, and weekly house meetings to foster unity and accountability. Mindfulness is promoted through meditation groups, and creative growth is encouraged via writing and journaling workshops. Expect regular social and recreational events, fitness outings, 12-Step workshops, accountability groups, and gratitude-sharing practices.

Our living environment is deeply structured to support recovery and safety. This includes clear expectations, regular and random UA (urinalysis) and breathalyzer testing, and a strict zero-tolerance policy for substance use. Chore systems are in place to keep the space welcoming, and regular check-ins help us support everyone’s goals.

Our House

Broad Highway is a sober living home in the heart of Austin, Texas, founded by two long-term sober alcoholics and addicts with deep roots in recovery—both professionally and personally. With our experience in the recovery field and active participation in 12-step fellowships, we bring a grounded, hands-on approach to sober living.

We each sponsor numerous men and remain fully engaged in our own programs of recovery. This isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are. Our primary purpose is to stay sober, and help other alcoholics and addicts achieve sobriety.

Community is the foundation at Broad Highway. We emphasize fellowship, accountability, and connection. Residents have easy, direct access to Austin’s vibrant recovery scene and our wide network of men living sober, meaningful lives. Centrally located with excellent transport, Broad Highway is more than a place to stay—it’s a place to grow. Recovery thrives in community, and everything we do reflects that commitment.
